COVID-19 has had a huge impact on the elder and their facilities.
Do you have grandparents? Are you close with them?
How do you see them during this pandemic?
What do you think of the way elders have been treated during this pandemic?

My weekend was the same as any other day during this pandemic. I am close with my grandparents. I do not see them as often as usual now, but we still sometimes just drive by their homes and say hi. There is not much else to do, so why not? I do not really follow the news so I do not know what is going on with the elderly, but I think that they should be prioritised over everyone else because they are much more vulnerable.

DeleteMy weekend was good since it was my mom's birthday , there wasn't much to do but it was manageable , yes I have to grandmas , one on my dads side who's 90 something years old, then one on my moms side who's 81 . Yes I am close with them in a way but I can't speak Italian that well so it's hard to communicate with them . Well both of my nonas live on the same street so it's easy to see them both , but we usually do groceries for them and drop them off at their door . I mean I think some have been treated well , but for some I guess it's hard for them because one of my nonas does this like a workout class for elders so I guess it's a bit boring for her .
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was very relax-full and calm. I have two grandmas and 1 grand-father. I don't get to see my dads parents because they live out in the eastern town-ships so we don't see them. I haven't seen my moms mom, but my parents and my sister did go see her but we were sure to be outside and be 6 feet apart. I think the rule that elders should be staying in and not coming in contact with anyone is good but for the elders in homes it's a bit more difficult for them because a lot of the employees that worked at theses homes quit their job due to this virus. Francois Legault takes full responsibility for not paying these people who worked at these homes enough money.

Deleteyes i have 3 grandparents, one grandma and 2 grandpa’s, i’m only really close with my grandparents from my moms side only because my grandfather from my dads side only speaks italian and i’m fluent in it yet. so i don’t often talk to him that much. we bought them an ipad so they could facetime us and we’ve been doing they’re groceries too. i think it’s been really hard on them during this time because they have a higher chance of getting sick so they don’t step out of there house to do groceries because they can’t risk getting sick.

DeleteYes I have 2 grandparents I have my grandma from my moms side and my grandma from my dads side. I am only close with my grandma on my moms side. My parents have been doing my grandmas (on my moms side) groceries we would be doing my dads side but she lives kinda far. I think it has been really hard on them because both of them are super stubborn so they wouldnt listen to the recommendations of the government to stay home and get others who arent at such high risk to do your groceries.
ReplyDeleteYes I had a nice weekend. It was Orthodox Easter so we did the Red Egg Game that we do each year. I believe that this year was my second time winning. I have 4 grandparents. Two from each side. I am close with them. I would see them once every week or two. I have called and faced them during this situation. I think some elders are getting treated well and some are not. I think it must be really hard for elders during this time. Some are probably too scared to even leave their houses because they can easily get it.

ReplyDeleteI do have grandparents and I am close with them but I say I’m the closest to my grandmother on my moms side.i don’t really see my grandparents during this pandemic.i don’t really know much about how elders have been treated but my grandparents aren’t seeing a lot of people so I don’t think they are happy about that but I think that is being treated well because they won’t get the corona virus.
