On Wednesday night (Sept 25), St. Thomas will be hosting a meeting about Major School Change.
What are some of the concerns you have, as students, about the state of St. Thomas?
Do you think we should move? Stay?
What is your opinion on this matter? How will this end?
Explain.
My concerns are if we are going to move. I don’t want to move because St Thomas is a good place. I like it there and if we are going to move it would be weird because I'm used to being here with everyone I know. I would like to stay here. I hope St Thomas will stay but anything can happen. I think it should stay because that building is where it all started. St Thomas has been a school for a very long time. I hope when the time comes for a decision to be made its the right decision and we stay.

DeleteI am concerned that Saint Thomas will have to move to a different location because I like our current location because it is simple and I already know my way around the school. My biggest concern is that they will send us to BHS because I really do not want to go to that school since I hear that it is a bad school. The ideal location to move to would be lindsey place because it is in a similar location to Saint Thomas and apparently it is also a nice and clean building. I have no clue how this whole affair will end, but I hope that we get to stay in our current building.

DeleteI am extremely concerned about this topic. I really like Saint Thomas and I don’t want to move schools. The main reason why I don’t want to change schools is because I have heard that all immersion students from Saint Thomas will not be able to merge with Lindsey place. I don’t think we should move because Saint Thomas is one of the oldest catholic schools in the West Island, and it would really suck if it had to close down. in conclusion I think we should stay. I think this will end in a good decision because there a lot of parents were going to the Townhall that don’t want their kids to move. hopefully they will understand the parents concerns and will let us stay.

DeleteSome of my concerns are where i will go if they move. I love ST-Thomas and i do not want to go anywhere else. I think that we should stay where we are because why do we need to move everything is good. My opinion is that we should just stay where we are. Hopefully this situation will end by everything going back to normal. I do not want to move and get separated from my frienfds.

DeleteThe concern i am having is because i live in Vaudreuil dorion will i go to westwood or Macdonald high school I think that ST Thomas High School not emerge should just stay where we are because it is a nice environment and it is not fair for use why can't they just build another school and we can take there is is not fair for use and I don't want that to happen then i need to know the new layout of the school . I hope in today's meeting they say that we won't emerge for STHS it a big matter and we will stay in this building

DeleteI think if we move all the students should go and not just the IB kids and then the French and English immersion kids have to go to different schools, I think its dumb because we will be separated from our friends and it will be more difficult for us. My main concerns are what school I would have to go to. It would also be weird for us because we will have to get used to a whole new school and get used to how that school works rather than how we are already used to it working and we know our way around our school.

Deletesome of the concerns that I have is that if st.Thomas shuts down I would have to go to BHS or pchs as my new high school.I don't think we should move because everybody is already used to this school.My opinion in this matter is that if we move to a different school some teachers might lose their jobs. Honestly I don't know how all of this is going to end.
ReplyDeleteI am really concerned about what might happen. I don’t want to move schools. I really like St.Thomas and I’m used to how things are. People are saying that Lindsey place will only be for IB, so I would have to switch schools and I don’t like any other school. My opinion is that St. Thomas should stay how it is. We are doing fine. I’m not sure how this will end but I hope it will by us staying where we are.
ReplyDeleteMy concerns are that st Thomas students will get stresses out due to change and that they would have a difficult time adjusting to the new environment and when there is the rumour of only IB students going to Lindsey which is a school they don’t want to lose because it’s newly renovated is wrong and they send immersion students to a worse school so the IB’s get a nicer school and the immersion students don’t, it’s unjust and discrimination. I want to stay because st Thomas is a great school without a doubt and we like it here and a relocating would cause even more trouble than there is. All the school board needs to do is to promote Lindsey place more and in a better fashion.
ReplyDeleteMy concerns are that the students who change to a different school won’t like the teachers or just the atmosphere of the school and develop stress or any kind of mental problems. I honestly don’t mind if we change but it would be nice to stay and Lindsay place is a nicer school and has more space for more students. I’m not really sure how this will end up but I hope it’s a good option and that all the administrators have thought through their decision.
ReplyDeleteSome of the concerns I have for this change is that there gonna have to distribute students to other schools so some of my friends would have to go somewhere else.I think we should stay because we just did new renovations to the school.My opinion his that we should just stay at St. Thomas because right there is no problem with it.I hope this ends in our favour and that nothing changes.
